Candidates must have a Bachelors degree. Prior Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience a must. Knowledge of SAP a plus!

PURIFICATION CHEMIST
Fast growing pharmaceutical manufacturing company in the Aiken area is hiring for an ENTRY LEVEL PURIFICATION CHEMIST!
Work closely with the Quality Manager and Lab Manager! Responsibilities will include:
1. Work in GMP facility to develop peptide manufacturing processes including peptide/protein purification by chromatography, crystallization and other techniques, and in-process test methods.
2. Monitoring raw material inventories and purchase the materials and chemical for routine use.
3. Write standard operation procedures, standard test procedures, master batch record and other related GMP document.
4. Follow approved GMP manufacture directions such as Master Batch Records, Standard Operation Procedures, Standard Test Procedures and other procedures to manufacture GMP material, perform in-process test, package the product and other related activities.
5. Install, test, operate and maintain equipment for manufacturing and in-process testing. The equipment includes analytical and prep HPLC system, lyophilizers, balances, rot-vap, dialfiltration systems, water purification systems, ovens, washing systems and others used in manufacture.
6. Follow SOPs and approved directions to clean equipment, glassware used in GMP processes and maintain cleaning logs for each piece of equipment.
7. Monitor compliance of maintenance and cleaning procedures of equipment and instruments used in GMP processes by checking and signing off on maintenance and cleaning logs for equipment.
8. Follow and maintain GMP Documentation System. Investigate any process deviation and write process deviation reports. Initiate document change request. Help quality control and assurance unit to maintain equipment calibration program.

Responsibilities will include Equipment and Product Design, Development and/or Modification.
* Conceive, design, develop and analyze machine designs and systems as well as development methods to improve existing designs.
* Improve upon current designs by reducing cost and increasing robustness and reliability.
* May produce or work with a team to produce full documentation for new product.
* Communicate project status through reports, presentations and design reviews
* Meet deadlines to ensure projects are completed within acceptable time and cost targets
* Must make design trade-offs to insure lowest overall cost, highest reliability and best in class performance
* Work with vendors to source and evaluate purchased components and with manufacturing to produce or assemble manufactured components and assemblies.
Must have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Two or more years Product Design experience Required. Prior experience inSolid Edge or Team Center strongly preferred.
